Zhana Karadenizova

I am a licensed Psychological Psychotherapist with specialization in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for adults.

I was born and raised in Bulgaria, where I completed my first degree in psychology in Sofia. At that time, I did not yet realize that this would only be the first step in a continuous process of professional qualification and personal growth. Fourteen years ago, I came to Berlin for my postgraduate studies. My journey has taken me from an academic degree (M.Sc. in Clinical Psychology) and university research (Ph.D. in Philosophy) through work in counseling centers, NGOs, and hospitals, all the way to my own private practice. Each stage has taught me one important lesson: psychotherapy is not “one size fits all.” It must be tailored to each individual. That is why I work with methods that are scientifically grounded but always adapted to the unique person sitting in front of me.

For the past ten years, I have been supporting people with and without migration experience who find themselves in difficult life situations. What drives me is the privilege of sharing in diverse life stories and witnessing the changes that unfold within my clients—when burdens fade, traumas are processed, fears subside, inner strength grows, and new perspectives open up. Supporting people through this process gives my work both meaning and inspiration.

What do I offer?
To provide easy and timely access to support, I offer a free psychosocial counseling session twice a month on Wednesday evenings for members of the Pangea House community.

This consultation is a low-threshold service for an initial orientation session. Together, we take a closer look at your current situation, clarify possible stress factors, and develop first steps forward. I support you in finding suitable support services or further measures for your individual situation—whether that may be counseling, therapy, or other forms of assistance.

Marleen Hoerig

I am a visual artist and have been working independently since completing my painting diploma in 2008. I am currently taking further training to become an art therapy practitioner. For many years, I have worked freelance in the field of art education, and now I am pursuing further development.

As a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, this is especially close to my heart. I want to create space and time particularly for people from our community, for people who have fled their home countries, and for highly sensitive individuals—spaces where connections can be built, where strength can be found in community, and where personal growth becomes possible. To truly grow, it is especially important to create a safe environment. I want to help shape and hold such a space together with you.

In this space, you can rediscover, awaken, and nurture your own resources. Using art therapy methods, we create a safe place where everything is allowed to be present. Every emotion is welcome—art therapy offers a way for it to be expressed and observed through materials. Once given form—whether in clay, drawing, collage, or painting—an emotion can become more tangible, or it can be set aside without judgment.

What do I offer?
To provide people in challenging life situations with a protected, creative space for personal growth, I offer art therapy sessions—individually or in groups. Appointments are arranged by agreement.
